#RSWI June 9, 2018
Ready, Set, Wear It! aims to break the world record for the number of life jackets worn on one day. In addition, this event is a great opportunity to gather with friends and family while educating others at the same time about safe boating practices.
Join boating safety educators, marine enforcement officials, politicians, media, and the public on Saturday, June 9, 2018 to try to beat the world record of 10,917 life jackets worn and inflatable life jackets inflated. Ready, Set, Wear It! Life Jacket World Record Day aims to raise public awareness about general boating safety practices placing emphasis on the importance of life jacket wear.
The event is part of the Safe Boating Campaign. Ready, Set, Wear It! events, including inflatable life jacket demonstrations, make for great TV and photo opportunities, and a family-friendly event.
Registration and event resources will be available in March 2018. Put on your party-planning hats, and start brainstorming how your local event can help break the world record on June 9, 2018.
This event is coordinated by the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) in partnership with the Canadian Safe Boating Council (CSBC) along with their respective members and affiliated organizations. The North American Safe Boating Campaign is produced under a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, administered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
